This is actually blog #2 for me. I had to create one for UH and if I was asked to find it now I am not sure I could. I do like blogs, its kinda like talking to yourself, or a journal...to sound less crazy, I only wish I actually had time, or better yet the discipline to sit and reflect on one.
Creating the avatar was cool, a little weird at first...I could not change the voice of my ~Hola Girl~ and so she had a dude's voice...like I said, weird!
I would really like to use blogging in my classroom, I feel as though the kiddos could use it as a form of self expression. Once they get past the creating (decorating), they could very well benefit from it. We could use it as a form of communication in the classroom between the students and me, where I could go back and post comments and answer questions.
I know what you mean about making time to blog. We have a family blog that we intended to keep up with but haven't written anything new in months. Sometimes I wish we could hit a pause button on life and make a little more time for ourselves.
ReplyDeleteThis past school year I found myself putting things off till "this summer", well this summer is about half gone and I still have not even made it half way down my list...a remote to pause would be awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI have also been a part of blogs and I know the more that I do them the more I want to be involved in them. I think it is harder for us than it is for our kids. I think it comes natural to them for some reason. I know the more I am responding to these blogs the more comfortable I am getting with it. I know that you will find great ways to use blogs in your classroom. I plan on using this tool as a way to support a different way for teachers to do reflections on different topics we are studying.
ReplyDeleteMs. K im happy to announce that in our OWDL training that we had this week, we have found a way to use our 11 tools training in our classrooms this year, we cannot wait to tell you all about it!
